Description: Structured literacy program that directly and systematically teaches the structure of the English language: focus on fluent decoding and encoding skills to the level of mastery. 12 levels addressing each of the 6 syllable types. Builds from one-syllable words to multi-syllable words within each level. Includes two forms, one for younger readers and one for older. Separate but associated assessment (WADE).

Entrance Criteria: TBD based on SST/SRBI team or 2+ years below grade level, in alignment with Tier 3 expectations

Exit Criteria: TBD based on SST/SRBI team decision to move to Tier 2

Intervention Requirements: At least 2x/week, 60-90 minutes, no more than 4 students, Wilson certified instructor

Progress Monitoring: Separate but associated assessment (WADE) allows for progress monitoring.

Implementation Considerations: Instructional kit (steps 1-6, steps 7-12): $300, Student reader set: $50, student consumables: $20 each , Wilson Assessment of Decoding and Encoding (WADE): $40. Teacher training required.
